Page Concept

Just to give you guys more insight on the whole process from storyboard to final product. As you can see the sketched don't always match the final version, which is interesting because sometimes the sketches just illustrate an idea on how I want the final panel to be and it just comes out that way. Hopefully I can give you guys another update before years end.

First Page - Test

Not finished by all means, but just wanted to give you guys a closer look at the process of how a page is done. First, my terrible drawing skills lay out the foundation of the page, so when I am ready to go in digitally -- all I have to go is make the images come alive. This page is 90% done so I just wanted to give you guys some quick updates on the project. I know I said I wouldn't update until I did more progress but now I mean it :P. Back to the drawing board! Enjoy this preview and I'd appreciate it if you left your thoughts and/or opinions.

Early Stages

Just to let everyone know I have begun working on the graphic novel. The preliminary stages are out of the way; I have hired an editor, I have a contributing artist whose work is featured in this post, and I have completed the cover(s) for the novel. I am now in the sketchbook phase hammering out thumbnails, concepts, sample pages & ideas. This blog won't be updated for a few weeks until I get some scans in, but at this early stage just know that lack of updates means I am working very hard at this project. I'll keep ya'll updated.

Synopsis

What if everything you've ever knew and thought to be true was nothing but pieced together episodes of a dark past? Meet Shayla, an ordinary 16 year old girl. She and her father, a retired mecernary airman, set out on what she believes to be a test flight on his homemade airplane. What turned out to be a simple test flight results in a sudden crash that leaves her stranded.

Scattered by wreckage, the washed up but no less determined young girl sets out to find her missing father. After weeks of searching, she gets a glimpse at a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. After learning the shocking series of events, she sets out to take revenge on the ones who betrayed her...
